A great thing about this bullpup is that it offers the same ballistics as a traditional rifle but in a more compact package and a more balanced weight.

The Tavor X95 is not perfect though.

The factory trigger is not that good. They have long and heavy trigger pulls.

Reloading and magazine changes take some practice to do quickly with the Tavor X95. These rifles are also uncomfortable to fire in the prone position.

Good thing is that a lot of these problems can be fixed with some upgrades and accessories.

What is the Tavor X95?

The Tavor X95 is a newer and upgraded version of the original Tavor bullpup rifle. There are some enhancements that were made.

The ambidextrous magazine release was moved up to the same location where it would be on a traditional AR-15.

They added Picatinny rails on the forend and relocated the charging handle closer to where the center mass of the rifle is.

Also, the pistol grip can be swapped out to AR-15 style pistol grips and this opens the door to a lot more options and customizations. The bolt release has been made smaller and more low profile.

IWI offers the Tavor X95 in three different cailbers and also sells conversion kits.

1. 5.56 Nato
2. 300 Blackout
3. 9 mm

This rifle is very well balanced and very reliable and durable.

Best Tavor X95 Trigger

Even though the trigger has been improved on the X95 compared to the older model it still can be greatly improved upon.

The first Tavor X95 upgrade you should do is a better trigger.

This is where the Geissele Automatics Super Sabra Trigger shines.

Upgrading the trigger to the Geissele is one of the best parts to add to the Tavor X95. It completely changes the feel of the rifle when firing.

The trigger is way more crisp and lighter and I highly recommend this upgrade. It will take the trigger pull weight down to about 5 lbs.

The difference is very noticeable and the installation is very easy. This is a drop-in trigger pack for the Tavor X95.

Your accuracy will be greatly improved and you will be able to shoot quicker while still maintaining that accuracy.

The Geissele Super Sabra Trigger is definitely one of the vest upgrades you can add to your Tavor X95 and it is quick and easy.

Best Tavor X95 Handguard

There are two downsides to the factory handguard. It isn't offered in M-Lok and while shouldering the rifle your optic and sights sit too low.

With a natural cheek well you will want to have a riser for your sights or optic. Or you can just replace your handguard with the Manticore Arms X95 Cantilever Forend and will solve both of these issues.

Adding this is a nice Tavor X95 upgrade.

Another great thing about upgrading to this handguard is it also makes your barrel free-floating which will increase accuracy.

This handguard eliminates the need for a riser and gives you M-Lok mounting capability. It also has integrated QD sling mounts.

It is easy to install and rock solid. Getting rid of polymer and having a metal handguard is also a plus.

Best Tavor X95 Optics

When going through the best Tavor X95 upgrades you must have a great optic.

There are two main optic setups that I recommend for the Tavor X95. They are both excellent choices and it comes down to personal preference and your own environment.

• Elcan Specter
• EOTech EXPS3-4 With G33 Magnifier

Elcan Specter

The Elcan Specter is a premium optic and you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to rifle optics and scopes. It is extremely rugged, durable, and versatile.

This is a battle prove optic that gives you all the advantages of a red dot and a scope.

The Elcan Specter has a throw lever that will quickly change the magnification from 1x to 4x. This allows you to engage targets at different distances rapidly.

The reticle is set for the 5.56 mm round and it also has BDC (bullet drop compensation).

This is a heavy optic but with the Tavor X95 having most of its weight in the rear on the butt end, it doesn't cause any issues making the rifle front heavy.

If you want the best optic when upgrading your Tavor X95, then the Elcan Specter is the way to go. This is honestly one of the best Tavor X95 upgrades you can do.

EOTech EXPS3-4 With G33 Magnifier

When it comes to holographic sights the EOTech offers one of the best options. These optics are what I recommend to anyone that has astigmatism.

They are battle-proven and combat tested.

This is also a heavier setup but with the way the Tavor X95 is balanced this is not an issue. The weight is centered on the rifle and it doesn't make it front heavy.

The magnifier also gives you the ability to see farther and lets you engage targets at distance more accurately.

It is also night vision capable a perfect option for the Tavor X95.

Best Tavor X95 Iron Sights

If you decide to swap out your handguard to the Manticore Arms X95 Cantilever Forend you will lose the iron sights that come with the Tavor X95 because they are integrated into the factory handguard.

Some people are starting to move away from backup iron sights because of how reliable optics are today.

I still also like having a good set of backup sights on my rifles.

There are a lot of aftermarket options to fix this but personally, I love the Magpul MBUS Pros and think they are one of the best accessories for this.

They are metal but still lightweight and very robust.

There is plenty of adjustment and they are also popup sights that can be folded down when not being used.

Best Tavor X95 Weapon Light

I am a huge proponent of having a good weapon light on a rifle. Especially one that is set up for a primary self-defense rifle.

You can only shoot what you see and will need a weapon light to identify your targets at night or in a low light scenario.

This is why one of the best Tavor X95 upgrades is a weapon light.

Surefire M600

For this, I recommend the Surefire M600. This is one of the best and brightest weapon lights on the market. It has been tried and true and is the primary light that I use on all of my rifles.

The Surefire M600 has been around for a while and is still used by many people for good reason. It's simply the best weapon light.

With 1000 lumens and good battery life it will easily light up any targets downrange to help you properly identify.

It is extremely reliable, water-resistant, and rugged.

To activate the Surefire M600 I like using the pressure switch. This is not required but is the best setup.

Surefire Pressure Switch

The Surefire Pressure switch attaches to the tail cap of the weapon light. This gives you the ability to have momentary on and off. The tail cap pressure switch also has a constant on button.

This is the quickest way to activate your Surefire M600 without having to adjust or move your hands out of the firing position.

The force it takes to activate the weapon light is just the right amount and the construction is very well made and well thought out.

This is the absolute best Tavor X95 upgrade for a weapon light mount setup.

Arisaka Defense Inline Mount

The best way to mount the light is with the Arisaka Defense Inline Mount. This mount is very low profile and allows you to have the Surefire M600 as close as possible to the rifle.

This mount keeps your light in close and prevents it from snagging on anything.

It is simple and rock solid.

The Inline Mount also brings the light more forward to prevent a large shadow of the muzzle from being cast.

Cloud Defensive LCS

Now to mount the pressure switch you will need the Cloud Defensive LCS.

This is by far my favorite way to mount the Surefire pressure switch. It is extremely low-profile and works great.

There are also channels underneath the mount that allow you to route the wire for good cable management.

The pressure switch fits securely into the mount. This is the best way to mount a weapon light switch.

Best Tavor X95 Accessories

Here are some of the best accessories for the Tavor X95 in addition to the main ones I listed above. Some of these are optional and personal preferences but they are the best Tavor X95 upgrades that can be easily added to your rifle.

Magpul MVG

Adding a Vertical foregrip will give you more control when shooting but more importantly I use it as a reference point when holding the rifle.

It acts as a place to grip the handguard that will line my hand up perfectly with the pressure switch for my weapon light.

The Magpul MVG is my go-to vertical grip.

It's simple and works as intended.

I also love the rubberized texture and the length it protrudes from the handguard is perfect.

Hand Stop

Having a hand stop serves two purposes. One to prevent your hand from overreaching towards the muzzle. Secondly to uses as support when shooting off barricades.

The Phase 5 Weapon Systems Micro Stop is perfect for this.

It is very solid and robust. The hand stop does not get in the way and is a perfect size.

Low profile is how I tend to keep all of my accessories on the Tavor X95 and this upgrade is great for that.

Weapon Sling

A good weapon sling is super important. It serves as a way to keep your rifle secured to you and a way to holster your rifle essentially.

The best sling is the Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Sling

The adjustments can be made easily and quickly just by pulling on the tab. It is great for shoulder transitions and can be tightened when making more accurate shots at a distance.

This sling is also made in a bunch of different colors and camo patterns.

QD Sling Mounts

To mount the sling you will need a way to attach it to the rifle. The Tavor X95 has QD slots in the stock and the Manticore Arms X95 Cantilever mount has these slots in the front.

The beat QD swivel mounts are the Magpul QD Sling Swivels.

You will need two of these to add to your sling so it can be securely attached to your rifle.

These also make it easy to add or remove your sling when you are not using it.

Having extra magazines is a must for any rifle. The good thing about the Tavor X95 is that it takes standard AR-15 style mags.

I personally like using the Magpul PMAGs Gen 3 with the window.

These magazines are very consistent and fit into mag wells perfectly. They feed reliably and are fairly priced. (Even in today's market)

I also like to stock up on PMAGs when I can.
